STIFF AS A POKER

I created this program for people who literally feel ‘stiff as a poker’ and who think they are beyond saving in terms of their flexibility! 

My intention here was to create a program that was accessible to everyone regardless of their current range of motion. A program where they would feel a sense of accomplishment and one that would inspire them to continue their yoga journey afterwards.

This program has no complicated yoga poses, no sitting cross legged and is ideal if you struggle to touch your knees, never mind your toes.

All of the lessons take less than 30 minutes to complete making it ideal to incorporate into your day.

1

In this introduction lesson we remain standing for the whole practice and gently open up all the joints of the body.

In this session we work on creating mobility in all of our joints from our head to our toes.

3

This session is great to do if you are at work and you fancy a yoga break! No mat required.

We begin with a balancing breathing
practice before moving through a full body practice.

4

In this lesson, we begin lying down on the back as we learn abdominal breathing for
stress relief.

All of our movements are performed lying down so it’s great practice if you’re feeling tired and we work our way up from our feet to our head.

5

In this lesson we begin with abdominal breathing then we move to hands and knees
to explore spinal movements, some gentle core work and Downward Dog.

Finishing with intentions of gratitude.

6

In this lesson we practice the abdominal breathing we learned in previous lessons.

We then open up the whole body – shoulders, spine, hamstrings and hips.

We build lots of strength in the muscles, as it’s lesson 6 I’m pushing you guys a little harder!
