In this video we practice alternate nostril breathing that has a lovely balancing effect on the nervous system. It falls into the ‘water category’ of breathing.
The left nostril stimulates the right hemisphere of the brain and is connected to the parasympathetic part of the nervous system – the rest and digest part.
The right nostril stimulates the left hemisphere of the brain and is connected to the sympathetic part of the nervous system – the fight or flight.
When we alternate the breathing from nostril to nostril it will bring us back into balance emotionally.
