Roisín Cotter
Organic Horticulturist & Consultant
My name is Roisin Cotter and I have been growing my own organic food in my garden in County Louth since 2005.
I run Organic Gardening courses, and develop school gardens, community gardens as well as consultancy.
I was really inspired by my studies in Organic Horticulture at the Organic College in Drumcollogher, County Limerick and decided to set up a school garden in my sons National School, which became an 8-year growing project!
I teach a Spring and Autumn Night Class in Growing Organically in O’Fiaich College in Dundalk and run a ‘Grow Your Own’ Module for TY students in St. Vincents and Dundalk Grammar Secondary Schools. I work as a tutor in Organic Growing with the LMETB for School and Community Education Courses. In 2020 I became a Heritage in Schools Expert with The Heritage Council teaching primary school students how to grow food and about our Irish food heritage.
I have found growing food for myself and my family really fulfilling. I believe it is something we can all learn to do which can truly improve our overall wellbeing and health. My mission is to help others to start growing some of their own food in a simple and time effective way.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge of organic growing with Vitality Vibe’s team and clients.
