Our Yin Yoga workshop coming up on Sunday, 24th January will help to alleviate the painful side effects of “computer pose” – both the physical and the emotional.

Computer pose consists of an overly rounded spine, forward slumping shoulders and a displacement of the skull that over extends the neck.

All of this leads to pain in many areas of the body primarily the neck, upper and lower back, hips and hamstrings.

Several things happen with this posture:
• The collapse of the chest cavity
• Inhibited respiration
• Pressure on the cervical spine (neck)
• Compression of the lumbar spine (low back)
• Tightening of the psoas muscle (abdomen)

This rounded posture also triggers the vagus nerve to alert the nervous system that you are under attack leading to increased feelings of stress and anxiousness. Don’t even get me started on the side effects of stress! Low libido anyone? Weight gain? Digestive issues? Fertility issues?

SO we will focus on these key areas of the body through the practice of Yin Yoga, stretching not just the muscles but also the connective tissues so we literally change how we LOOK and FEEL.

Yin Yoga is a slow paced gentle practice emphasising work on the tendons, ligaments and fascia of the body rather than just the muscle. When we stretch these areas of the body it allows for a deep release of tension, improved circulation and greater flexibility.

The time spent in each posture allows you to use your breath to calm your entire nervous system, feeling stress and tension melt away. Wear warm, comfy clothing as the pace is gentle.

Pre-booking is essential and payment can be made via Revolut, PayPal or Bank Transfer.
